The Gem team split after Karijini, going separate ways we headed up to Onslow for a night t catch up with a friend and to get the Onslow jetty at sunset, we were not dissapointed, Onslow jetty was loading salt onto a bulk carrier and so the lights were on, this is the subsequent shot.
15 members of the Gem Camera Club Kalamunda have now returned from a fantastic trip to Karijini led by Stephen Williams, it was also going to be led by Neal Prichard but Neal broke his leg and could not make it, sorry Neal we had a great time up and down waterfalls and through knee deep pools ( up to our chests , well Stephen is a little longer n the leg than mos of us)
We just went up to see a glass splash back using one of my images, an 8 pic stitch from Glen Helen , west of Alice in the NT, taken last July on our way home after the Canning Stock route drive,
it was awesome to see the image printed 4 meters by 1200 mm laminated behind glass, it looks so great I want to show off.
Had an enjoyable evening walking the city on Friday evening with Mark Stothard and a group of 20 others including Flemming Bo Jenson, finishing up at Camera Solutions for a drink and pizza , thenks Mark and thanks Camera Solutions for a great evening.
We spent an enjoyable weekend hosted by the Pemberton Camera Club on a WAPF weekend. The fires in the area restricted where we could go so the planned trip to Black Point was off limits, however we with a convoy of 15 4WD’s headed out to a really nice beach North West of Windy Harbour, then on Sunday to Salmon Beach and Windy Harbour for Brunch, getting some interesting shots in the forest with a smoky haze.
Woke up this morning with news that last night Northcliffe was evacuated and windy harbour was under threat. It is a lovely spot so I hope they are going to be OK, the forecast is not good with hot easterly winds pushing the fire towards them. the fires have been burning for a couple of weeks following lightning strikes in the area.
Had a wonderful breakfast at Blend in Melville this morning with my cousin the Eggs Benedict were fantastic the decor was magpie eg full of junk and old signs the service and food were superb,
I caught site of a coffee sign that said it all so I just had to mock one up myself
